Blue Coat Systems will host a complimentary Webinar in conjunction with Federal Computer Week and Government Computer News. This Webinar is intended to help government agencies comply with the Trusted Internet Connection (TIC) initiative.
The TIC initiative focuses on improving the security of government networks by reducing the number of, and further securing, risk points. Under the initiative, TIC will decrease the number of external, public-facing Internet gateways used by government agencies from roughly 4,000, today, to 50. Originally, government agencies were to comply with the initiative by June 30, 2008. However, due to the aggressive deadline, many agencies filed for extensions or are still evaluating solutions for gateway consolidation and greater security of their Internet connections.
Blue Coat solutions offer a combination of Web security and policy control with acceleration and bandwidth reduction that can scale to the large deployments needed for such consolidation.
